The result of JEE Main 2013 will be declared on the official website of JEE Main 2013 on May 7, 2013. The official website link of the JEE Main is www.jeemain.nic.in . The result will comprise of two things, the score he or she has secured in the exam and his/her status about the eligibility to appear in the JEE Advanced 2013.

There will be two merit list which will be formulated separately for the two types of JEE. One will be for BE / B. Tech and other will be for B. Arch / B. Planning. The merit list will be made on the formula of 60/40 having 60% weight age of the marks scored in the JEE Main 2013 and 40% from the marks of Class XII or equivalent system.

The Rank cards which will have All India, State and Category Ranks of the candidates of JEE Main 2013 result will be hosted by the official website of JEE. There will be a category wise merit list in which the candidates will be listed in the ascending order of their ranks. The Class XII marks will be considered once they are normalized. Result cards will be posted to the candidates on their residential address after 12/07/2013. It has been mentioned that if any result card is list due to the postal transit, the official bodies of JEE will not be responsible for the loss. Thus it is advised for the students to fill their proper and right address while filling the form.

Those who will not receive the card at all in the given time by the official bodies, they will be able to get a duplicate copy of the result card from the JEE Main by making a payment of Rupees 50 for the result card and rupees 30 for postal charges. The amount will have to be sent through a DD drawn in the name of Secretary CBSE. The dates within which you can apply for the duplicate card are 01/08/2013 to 31/08/2013.

Now there is a question, what if students get a tie on the merit, what would be the criteria for the one who will be up in the list. It will be decided on the following factors.

·         The one with higher scores in Mathematics in JEEMain 2013 will be given preference
·         The one with higher scores in Physics in JEEMain 2013 will be given preference
·         The one with higher scores in qualifying exam will be given preference
·         The one with higher absolute value of ratio of positive and negative marks  will be given preference
·         Just in case, after all the above said rules, the merit still becomes the same, then same rank will be allowed to both the candidates.

The result of the JEE Main 2013 is quite important as it will be used in many colleges and engineering courses. The site will hold all the result card and will be working as a proof for the colleges and universities for verification.
